You are invited to participate in the TTA’s Free Education Session on Wednesday, March 24 at 9 to 10 am.

In 2011, the Canadian Trucking Alliance commissioned an independent study that estimated cargo theft had a $5 billion impact on the Canadian economy. Today that estimated dollar value is significantly much higher since cargo theft rates have skyrocketed in the past eight years with the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) being the cargo theft capital of Canada. It is essential for shippers, manufacturers, and commercial transportation companies to implement cargo crime mitigation solutions to avoid being a victim.  This presentation will provide an overview on the current problem and discuss security solutions that can help mitigate cargo crime.

The following topics will be discussed in this free TTA educational session:

  • The importance of a Supply Chain Security Program
  • Key Risk Mitigation Strategies
  • The Cargo Crime Problem in Canada
  • The Root Problem – Organized Crime Groups
  • Cargo Theft Methods
  • Preventative Solutions – Driver & Business
  • Preventative Solutions – High-Value/High-Risk Loads
  • Monitoring Services – Cargo Security
  • Responsive Services – Load Recovery
  • Canada Cargo Security Survey Results
